A new Japanese GMC Jimny Nomad Suzuki…TYPHOON?! Yes, you read that correctly, and yes, it is “Jimny” with an “N”…and yes, it is real.
CL Link Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Representative Director: Takayuki Miya) announces a development project for a “90s American SUV specification” based on the Jimny Nomad, which will be carried out in collaboration with Ryo Ishikawa, our advisor and founder of “VANQUISH” and “#FR2”.
The Jimny Nomad gets a “square headlight x lowered” makeover. Ryo Ishikawa x CLLINK unveil a “90s American SUV style”. Based on the Jimny Nomad, this vehicle proposes a style reminiscent of American SUVs from the early 1990s. It will be exhibited at TOKYO AUTO SALON 2027, and orders will begin to be accepted in conjunction with the event.

Development Background: Expanding the enjoyment of the Jimny through lowering the ride height
While lift-up kits are a common Jimny customization option, this project offers the alternative of slightly lowering the ride height to improve the overall balance. Incorporating the perspectives Mr. Ishikawa has cultivated through his work in fashion and brand building, this project proposes a style for enjoying the Jimny with a free and imaginative approach.
The inspiration comes from the low-slung stance and imposing front face seen in American SUVs of the early 1990s. That atmosphere is then incorporated into the boxy body of the Jimny Nomad. It’s an effort to pursue both coolness and cuteness as a car, drawing on a sense of fashion and lifestyle.

A UNIFIED DESIGN FRONT TO REAR

The design aims for a cohesive look, centered around an all-black body, from the front face and wheels to the rear view.
• Low-slung proportions: Features a 1-inch lowering kit combining Eibach coils and Bilstein shocks. This balances the ride height and stance.
• Impressive front face: Combines a square headlight conversion kit, a dedicated grille, and a dedicated front bumper.
• Clean rear view: The spare tire is removed and the rear is smoothed with a body-colored rear smoothing panel.
The interior features exclusive RECARO seats in the front and exclusive seat covers in the rear, creating a unified aesthetic from the exterior to the interior.
