If you are an avid modeler who loves building scale cars and trucks, then you have most likely assembled and customized a model from Revell. Originally founded in California in 1943 by Lewis H. (Lou) Glaser, Revell started under the name Precision Specialties; it was an injection-molding company that originally made small plastic items and toys before adopting the name Revell (from the French word réveil, meaning “awakening”).
The original Revell GMC Syclone 1:25 scale plastic model kit (Kit #7435) was first released in 1992. Since its original release, there have been two updates to the packaging images for the model kit.

As many modelers do, customizing their builds is part of the fun. When a post was made with some fun facts on the Marlboro Syclone, model builder Jason Richardson chimed in and dropped some awesome pics of his custom Revell Syclone build, which he converted into a Marlboro Syclone. We were immediately impressed, so we asked to be able to share the pics with everyone with Jason’s permission.
He mentioned that anything that the kit didn’t provide and was specific to the Marlboro build, he 3D printed or fabricated. The decal kit used on the build was from Rays Decal Kits North America.

Jason is now working on a more finer detailed version of the Marlboro Syclone (we recommended doing the roof support setup in the bed like the real trucks have) and is also working on GMC Typhoon using a resin-cast body with modified cladding from the Revell kit. We’re looking forward to seeing both finished and plan to do another post to showcase both when he’s done!
